- <p> "All I wanted to do was sleep," said Michael Chang of the
- final, grueling moments of his 4 1/2-hour match with top seed
- Ivan Lendl. And no wonder. Fatigued and suffering painful leg
- cramps last week in the French Open, Chang, 17, looked as if he
- could hardly finish the match. But the teenager, the youngest
- man ever to advance so far in the tournament, hung on
- tenaciously and upset the three-time winner with a
- stagger-and-attack strategy highlighted by an underhand
- Ping-Pong serve and softly lobbed "moonballs." The last,
- dramatic set ended when Lendl double faulted. And so to sleep. . .
